Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has alleged that some forces are attempting to obstruct the development of Palamuru district.

The Chief Minister attended the Kurumurthy Swamy Jatara at Ammapuram village of Chinna Chinthakunta mandal in Mahabubnagar district on Sunday. Later, he laid the foundation stone for the construction of a ghat road and elevated corridor near the temple at the cost of Rs110 crore.

Speaking at a public meeting to mark the occasion, Revanth Reddy expressed concerns over the historic neglect that Palamuru had faced under previous administrations and urged opposition parties to allow the district to prosper under his administration, highlighting that Palamuru has contributed 12 MLAs, 2 MPs, and a Chief Minister to the Telangana State.

As a native son of Palamuru, he assured the people that he is determined to complete all pending irrigation projects and will not let his constituents down.

The Chief Minister emphasised his commitment to repaying this debt by advancing Palamuru’s development.

Revanth Reddy also reminded that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao held office twice, thanks in part to the support of Palamuru’s people, but he failed to develop the district and neglected all the sectors.

The Chief Minister pledged to provide training and employment opportunities for the youth, mentioning that the Amara Raja Group has committed to creating 2,000 jobs.

Stating that his responsibility is to build high-quality BT roads for villages and hamlets across the region, Revanth Reddy directed senior officials to prepare estimates for constructing these roads, emphasising his government’s commitment to improving education, healthcare, and employment in Palamuru.

Acknowledging the lack of basic amenities at the Kurumurthy temple, he stated that if the district collector submits a comprehensive report on the temple’s requirements, necessary funds will be allocated, aiming to elevate Kurumurthy as a pilgrimage site for the region’s less privileged, akin to a ‘Tirupati for the poor.’

The Chief Minister expressed disappointment over past governments’ inaction on projects and industries in Palamuru, noting that migration remains a pressing issue in the area.

He reiterated his commitment to bringing Krishna River water to the regions of Makthal, Narayanpet, and Kodangal areas, underscoring his dedication to revitalising the Palamuru district.

Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Damodar Raja Narasimha, Congress MLAs and other elected representatives also accompanied the Chief Minister.
